KRYSTAL THOMAS- Director of Impact Sports
Krystal, an Orlando native, was a standout high school basketball player. She led the First Academy to back to back state titles, while being named the MVP on both championship teams. During her senior year, Krystal played in both the McDonald’s All American game and WBCA All-American game. She was also named the 2007 Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Florida Basketball and Florida Gatorade Player of the Year. She finished her high school career being ranked in the top 10 nationally.
Following her senior year of high school, Krystal was selected to play for the USA U19 World Championship team. Thomas led this team to a 9-0 record and a gold medal in Bratislava, Slovakia in the summer of 2007.
Krystal was a 4-year varsity letter winner at Duke University. She led the Blue Devils to back to back ACC regular season titles, back to back ACC tournament titles, and back to back Elite 8 appearances. She left her mark in many categories in the Duke record books as well. She ranks 6th in career rebounds and 3rd all-time in blocked shots. She was also one of only two players to pull down 300 rebounds in a single season.
Thomas is entering into her 6th WNBA season this summer with the Washington Mystics. Drafted to the WNBA out of college, Thomas has played for the Seattle Storm, Phoenix Mercury, and Indiana Fever throughout her professional career. She has also played overseas in France, China, and Spain.
Krystal also coached two years of Division 1 basketball at Grand Canyon University. Krystal and her husband Brian reside in the Phoenix area. Krystal is the oldest of 5 children. Most importantly, Krystal loves Jesus Christ. He is the focal point of her life, and she strives to glorify and honor him in all that she does. Krystal is excited about leading the Crusaders to new heights and constantly making an IMPACT.
